ABOUT US

The BDA Foundation is dedicated to launching and incubating local businesses throughout Africa, and to develop the capacity of the private sector in the form of BDA™ Certified Ecopreneurs who will innovate the world’s Agricultural and botanical supply chain. BDA’s mission is unique and invaluable.

WHO WE ARE

BDA is an international non-profit organization that trains, equips, certifies, and provides the necessary scientific and business support for BDA™ Certified Ecopreneurs (entrepreneurs in professional agri-business with environmental and sustainable development best practices) to succeed in Africa’s emerging agricultural and botanical industry.

Our Breakthrough Opportunity...To Formalize Africa’s Botanical/Agricultural Economy

Africa is teeming with an extraordinary abundance and diversity of botanical resources which until now have been underutilized due to the fact that they grow in the wild and subsistence farmers cannot meet the demanding quality control and manufacturing requirements.

There is a global market for these plants for use in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and cosmetic industries, however Africa currently has poor quality control in an industry where international protocols are norms are strict with very high standards for semi-finished and finished products.

The BDA Foundation through its visionary leadership and guidance is building Africa’s equitable botanical supply chain and creating a world-class integrated business ecosystem that will change the future of Africa.

OUR VISION

The vision of BDA is to build and grow Africa’s botanical supply chain and to guide and support ecopreneurs through the entire process of the BDA innovative business system. We are shifting Africa’s agriculture from artisanal farming to 21st century ‘Pharming’ by training professional, educated agriculturalists and giving them access to land ownership.  We then assist them in establishing their own formal SME. We then provide ongoing training and support to enable them to master complex business transactions. We’re growing plants, growing people, and growing economies throughout the African continent. BDA is… Innovation that Empowers!
