Carole Robert

​Founder and Chair of the Board of BDA Foundation

Carole has vast experience in innovation, international trade and strategic planning. President of the board of directors of the World Trade Center of Montreal (1996-2002) and member of the board and executive committee of Montréal International (1998-2003), she was named Personality Export 1997 and received the 1st Export price 1997 from the Canadian Economic Development and Ministry of Industry and Trade of Quebec.

Mrs. Robert founded the BDA Foundation and PharmAfrican and mentors a new generation of African Ecopreneurs in Good Agricultural and Collection Practices for medicinal plant entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development. The BDA-PharmAfrican-BASS “innovative business ecosystem” supports African Ecopreneurs while generating a triple bottom line: economic, social and environmental. The Business ecosystem was presented as a model for sustainable development and climate change resilience during COP22 in Marrakesh. She has received numerous awards and prizes for her innovative work and is recognized as by the United Nations as a leader in global sustainability.

  • Chair of the committee and Member of the DRCongo national expert committee for the Economic Francophonie (2016-2017)

  • Selected one of the 3 agri-business incubators in the DRC by the DRC Ministry of Agriculture, African Development Bank and ILO (international labor organization) (2020-2024)

  • Member of the board of directors of FIAB (International Federation of Africa Beauty). Development of responsible sourcing of ingredients since 2019
