PDF versionPDF version

As part of the “Corporate Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility in the DRC” event being held on the premises of ÉTS and on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Biotechnology for Sustainable Development in Africa Foundation (BDA), the Right Honourable Joe Clark is proud to host Abbot Appolinaire Malumalu, with whom he worked when Abbot Malumalu was responsible for organizing the DRC!s first democratic elections in 42 years.

The purpose of the Abbot Malumalu!s visit is to thank the PRÉCI and École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS) for supporting the BDA Foundation. In fact, as part of the PRÉCI, a student program dedicated to international partnership, four ÉTS students will travel to the DRC in September for four months to build a medical plant processing centre in the DRC!s Luki Biosphere Reserve managed by the WWF.

This new medicinal plant processing centre will make it possible for 32 African entrepreneurs trained in the DRC by the BDA Foundation to ensure the quality and traceability of plant material and as a result, satisfy the quality assurance standards of the World Health Organization (WHO).
